Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation (plus Gift): Is this Foundation Worth the Hype?

I buy a lot of makeup.  I am faithful to many brands (MAC, Urban Decay, etc.) but if there is one thing I love about high-end brands like Lancome and Estée Lauder is that they incentivize their customers into buying their products with freebies.  And we ALL LOVE FREEBIES.  It makes a $40 dollar purchase for a foundation way less painful (can I get an AMEN?!).  With that said, I’ve read up on the “wonders” of Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation and just HAD to try it for myself.  And of course, I purchased it at the right time. Now on to the good stuff… The Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Dawn (2W1).  Review will be below this picture:

Okay, so I finally decided to splurge on this foundation after so many bbloggers raved about its awesome and I must say I am NOT disappointed.  I went over to the Estée Lauder counter at Macy’s to get matched (which for some reason is always a difficult process with my skin color), once I got matched I bought this baby home and decided to try it for a few days before giving you all a thorough review.

Okay the coverage is medium, buildable, very close to full coverage.  So if you have problem skin this might be one to look into.  This foundation unlike a lot of the others I’ve bought doesn’t have that “just sitting on top of your skin” feel (you know when you wipe a finger across your face and you feel like the foundation just melted off like butter). This actually sinks into the skin and pretty much stays there.  After 8 long hours at work, I came home, showered (with my foundation on) and it was was still there, on my face, pretty flawless considering I had just washed my hair and probably rubbed my face a few times.  So it’s safe to say this foundation stays on (combo skin).  It didn’t break me out either which surprised me since I have super sensitive skin.  I give this foundation a solid 8 out of 10.
