Drugstore Diva: The Real Reason You Should Still Shop at the Drugstore
I know that in the beauty community there is a long standing battle between what is worth the splurge and what is still worth buying in the drugstore. Some girls tend to buy ALL of their makeup at high-end retailers and some are devotees to the drugstore.
I live in a happy medium in which both have their gems and their trash along the isles. I am completely okay with dishing out $30 on a product I love the same way I am okay with spending $3 on something from the drugstore. With that said, the drugstore is still home to some of my favorite products!
Since Christmas is around the corner and we’re still celebrating with #25DaysofGlam on our blogs and on Twitter (make sure you say ‘hello’ to me on there), I figured why not share some of my faves with you and also give away some of my favorite goodies (with an added surprise *wink wink*).
First some of my absolute must-have drugstore buys: Boots Coconut Body Butter (in fact any of their Coconut products) is one of those things I stock up on every time I am at a drugstore. The scent is delicious and it keeps your body feeling super smooth! I seriously have about 4 of these laying around my house as I type this. Also from Boots their Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz, I cannot praise this mist enough, I use it every night before bed to keep my acne-prone skin at bay!
Talking about skin; Neutrogena Makeup Removing Cleansing Towelettes are a staple in the beauty community (and for good reason) they get the job done and remove even waterproof makeup! On the flip side I love Olay Complete moisturizer (I actually rotate between this and Neutrogena’s Sensitive Skin moisturizer).
When it comes to drugstore makeup I wish I could say I’ve found my HG foundation, but I have not. What I have found though are some kick-ass products that do amazingly well without making my pockets cry. Two eyeliners I hold dear to my heart because they simply do not smudge: Maybelline Stiletto and L’oreal Telescopic Precision Waterproof eyeliner. Oh and I love the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser Concealer too! When it comes to lipstick, there is no othet drugstore to do it better than Wet n’ Wild MegaLast Lip Color, very comparable to a MAC Cosmetics matte lipstick. I love a good bargain especially when it comes to bronzer, I always use the NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder to give me that, fresh off the beach tan. Last but not least EcoTools brushes! They are seriously so good, even with my Sephora, MAC and Crown Brushes, I always gravitate to my EcoTools brushes!
