Review & Swatch: ColourPop Shadows and Lippie Stix

Took me a while to get on the ColourPop bandwagon but I am so glad I did.  I bought some shadows and Lippie Stix and a Lip Pencil and wanted to share some swatches with you.

A bit about ColourPop, this makeup line is all about offering amazing pigment payoff and not breaking the bank.  Seriously, their shadows, pigments, lippie stix and lip pencils go for a comfy $5.  You really cannot beat that.  Another kick ass thing about Colourpop (other than serious color payoff and a great price?) it’s all made in the good ol’ US of A and it’s cruelty-free.  Yup, no animal testing! Hearts all around for Colourpop!

First, lets take a look at the shadows from top left, Bandit (a rusty brown), top right, Amaze (a metallic rose gold) and bottom, Liberty ( ntense, metallic, true-silver).

Swatches of the shadows:

Left to Right: Liberty, Amaze and Bandit

And now for the super fun stuff (at least for me, because I am obscenely obsessed with lipstick). The Lippie Stix and Lip Pencils are super pigmented and you really cannot beat the $5 price tag on these babies.  Oh and yes, we have a dupe for the super-seller from Melt Cosmetics, Dark Room.

From top to bottom we have: LBB (the Dark Room Dupe), Pitch (the perfect chocolate brown), and Bull Chic (matte black).

Here we have the lip liner in Bound (mid-tone, nude pink):

As for how the colors look 🙂 From top to bottom: Bound lip pencil, Bull Chic, Pitch and LBB.

I really love Colourpop.  The eye shadows are super pigmented and have a very weird texture.  The texture is almost like a whipped foundation but in powder form, when you press into the eye shadow pot with your finger it has a sponge-like quality which I love.  The color pay off is intense for all of their products.  As for their lippie stix, what I really love is that they are matte but they are moisturizing.

If you want an ultra-matte finish, I’d simply dust translucent powder over the lips to completely mattify the lips. While a lot of matte lipsticks dry out the lips, this formula is quite hydrating!

Now, surprisingly my ultimate favorite purchase was the random lip pencil.  Here’s the deal.  Most lip pencils (even some of my trusty MAC ones) tend to drag across the lips.  What I mean is, that when I am applying lip liner sometimes I have to tug at the liner to get the intense color I want.  These Colourpop Lip Pencils are smooth and effortless.  They are so easy to manage and create fluid lines on the lips without much labor. LOVE!
