Is Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation Worth The Splurge?
I have taken a small hiatus to adjust to my new job and other new endeavors and thought it would be the perfect time to finally give an honest review on a very hyped up foundation. Armani Luminous Silk is a holy grail foundation for some of IG’s top MUA like Amrezy, and for a long time I held out buying it for its steep price tag (we are talking a nice ol’ $62). About a month ago I finally gave in and bought the damn thing.
So, what does this foundation claim to do? Armani says this foundation is supposed to be a light-weight liquid foundation that provides a radiant silky finish. It is created using micro-fil technology. What does that mean exactly? You get a lot of pigment in a lightweight, low-density product (doesn’t feel heavy or thick).
The Verdict? This foundation is amazing, especially to photograph with. The consistency of this foundation is runny much like the Urban Decay Naked foundation (which I love), making it easy to get on the entire face and blending. It dries to a dewy finish, this foundation is especially good for the winter, but if you properly set it, it should withstand hot weather too. It’s medium coverage, but definitely build-able.
I can usually go an entire day at work and the foundation remains pretty flawless on my face (I have combo skin for reference).
If you’ve got $65 bucks to spare or want a really great foundation for special occasion, I definitely think this one is worth looking into and trying. Remember that before buying any foundation you can always ask for samples at Sephora. This is an especially helpful tip if you have sensitive skin.
