Recap: The Makeup Show Orlando #TMSOrlando
Over the weekend I got to attend The Makeup Show- Orlando both as a makeup artist purchasing things for her makeup kit and also as a volunteer for Makeup Forever for their customer service team.
I’d only been once before to The Makeup Show Pop Up Shop (actually open to both MUA’s and non-MUA’s alike). The Makeup Show is a Pro Only event (or so I am told, I could be wrong).
It was awesome. The discounts were steep and the brands there varied in range of pricing. You had the high-end brands like Kevyn Aucoin and AJ Crimson and the mid-level brands we all know and love like Nars and Makeup Forever, then you had the awesome beauty specialty stores like Frends Beauty and Nigel’s Beauty Emporium among others.
The show was jam packed with seasoned artists, newcomers like myself and people just hoping to start out. There were all sorts of educational seminars led by some of the best in the business like James Vincent and Nick Lujan. Oh and I got to meet the most amazing Scott Barnes (originally JLo’s makeup artist and a diva in his own right! He was such a sweetheart!).
My school, Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry had a booth packed with demos from talent that ranged in special FX to glamour makeup.
The beauty specialty stores had AMAZING deals for any makeup artist looking to start a kit, replenish a kit or buy an entire new kit from scratch. Some sales were as steep as 70% off. Talk about a bargain!
I purchased a bunch of stuff not just for my kit but also for personal use and I cannot wait to show it to you all!
But for now I leave you with some images from The Makeup Show! If you are an artist you should look into going to the next one! They have shows in several cities!
I bought a bunch of stuff! Can’t wait to show everyone.
